The Plitvice lakes are Croatia's most famous national park and are among the most beautiful sights in Europe.
Due to their natural diversity, they are part of the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Plitvice lakes consist of 16 connected lakes and numerous waterfalls, surrounded by dense forests.

Just across the Pag and Rab island and only 1km away from Jablanac lies Zavratnica, the most beautiful bay on the sub-Velebit coast.
In 1964 it was proclaimed a "significant landscape" owing to its natural worth and it has been an intrinsic part of the Velebit Nature Park.
Its views, untypical for the bays on the Croatian coast will delight the visitors and make them wish to come back again every year.

With its typical karst relief, the Velebit mountain hides many a karst phenomenon in its underground, namely its innumerable pits and caves.
The largest caves discovered up to now are the Cerovac caves, nearby Gracac.
These caves surpass by far all other speleological object in Croatia, with their abundance of cave ornaments.
Their unique natural beauty and great number of findings from the distant past brought about their protection by law as the geomorphological nature monument in 1961.

One of few settlements in the peak part of Velebit, Baske Ostarije is situated just off the Gospic - Karlobag road.
This village is a starting point for the tour of the surrounding mountain peaks (Kiza, Ljubicko brdo, Sadikovac, Sladovaca, Badanj, Metla,...) all of which can be reached by marked mountain trails.
Baske Ostarije are the starting point of the "Terezijana" educational trail which stretches along 3km to reach a point above the Konjsko village.
The educational trail is part of the Austro-Hungary road "Terezijana", which was used to connect Gospic and Karlobag across Velebit.
The "Terezijana" trail was built in 1786, and was named in honour of the Empress Maria Teresia.
